Annual Triple Play Low Band Sprint & DOUBLEHEADER!!!

PURPOSE: To work as many stations as possible on the three low bands (40, 80 and 160 meters) using PSK31 mode.  This event is a three-day sprint open to all amateur radio operators licensed to operate on the HF bands.

ENTRY CATEGORIES: QRP 5 watts, Low Power 25 watts, Medium Power 50 watts, High Power 100 watts (all powers maximum output).

MODE: PSK31 only.

DATES:

Triple Play Sprint: 2nd Saturday in November to the Following Monday

DOUBLEHEADER:   2nd Saturday in December to the Following Monday

Work a six hr block EACH UTC DATE, beginning at the time of your choosing, and work six continuous hours from that point on.

You may have only one "block" or "block portion" on any given date.

The scorer only allows one "start point" on each UTC date!!!

For scoring, your six hour blocks will begin with the hour that you select on the scorer page and continue for the next 6 hours.

NOTE: For scoring, your six hour blocks will begin with the hour that you select on the scorer page and continue for the next 6 hours. Note that any start time of 1800 or later will end at 2359 that UTC day, so those times are consolidated into a single "1800-2300" start time selection in the Contest Scorer.

EXCHANGE:  State/Province/Country (SPC).  Call "CQ Ø7Ø Sprint".

BANDS: 40, 80 and 160 meters.  Work each station once per band during the entire three-day contest. "Same station, same band, different day" is a dupe!  All contacts must be 2-way PSK31.  Cross-mode or cross-band contacts not allowed.

POWER: Use no more than the stated maximum for your entry category. Please keep your power output set to a reasonable level to avoid QRMing others. Use the MINIMUM power necessary to make the contact at all times!

FREQS: 1807/1838 (Europe), 3580, 7070/7040/7035(Europe) kHz.

SCORING: QSO Points - Each contact on 40 meters counts one (1) QSO point.  Each contact on 80 meters counts as two (2) QSO points.  Each contact on 160 meters counts as three (3) QSO points. Dupes count as zero (0) points.

MULTIPLIERS: Each different State/Province/Country (SPC) worked, counted only once (not once per band).  Use current ARRL DXCC list for country reference.  If you work your own SPC, do not forget to take credit for the multiplier. Note also:

  • First U.S. station worked counts as two (2) multipliers (country and state).
  • First VE station worked counts as two (2) multipliers (country and province).
  • First Alaska station worked counts as two (2) multipliers (country and state).
  • First Hawaii station worked counts as two (2) multipliers (country and state).

(Note: Washington, DC counts as MD.)

Final score = (Total QSO Points) x (Total Different SPC's).
